Current employment
Sep 03 to date Web Developer, Health Solutions Wales (Velindre NHS Trust)
A full-time role developing and maintaining web-based systems for the NHS in Wales. The role involves knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ColdFusion, MS SQL Server and InterBase. Completed projects so far include: designing and developing a fire inspection audit system for Welsh Health Estates; improvements to the Welsh Assembly Government's Delayed Transfers of Care system; a Self Assessement Audit Tool measuring compliance by public sector organisations against the Assembly's Children's National Service Framework; and the redesign of the NHS Wales site at www.wales.nhs.uk.

Previous employment
Nov 99 to Sep 03 IT Manager, Grwp Agored Housing Association
A dual IT and Finance role in a housing association having around 800 properties in the Canton, Grangetown, Riverside and Fairwater areas of Cardiff. I was responsible for the maintenance and support of the group's IT and telephone systems across five sites in Cardiff. The role was extremely varied - from dealing with day-to-day queries as a "helpdesk"-style service, to more strategic matters such as policy writing and budget setting. The post had grown to such an extent that I became responsible for a full-time member of IT staff.
The role also involved managing the rent ledger for their properties using the QL package from Aareon. QL is based on MS SQL Server, and custom management reports are generated both through MS Access and MS Query in Excel.
Mar 99 to Nov 99 Helpdesk Agent, BT Connect to Business
Full time work with an Internet Service Provider geared towards small and medium sized businesses. Originally joining as part of the Customer Accounts/Administration department, I was transferred after two months to the Specialist team, dealing with technical issues. There were two main functions involved with the post: supporting Secure File Transfer between educational establishments and examination boards; and providing assistance to LAN customers migrating from BTInternet to BT Connect to Business.
Dec 97 to Feb 99 TEC Contracts Clerk, Pembrokeshire College
Full time work as part of the Finance team. Specific responsibility was given for submitting monthly financial claims to West Wales TEC in relation to Modern Apprenticeships, New Deal and National Traineeships, which formed a significant part of the College's income.
Duties also included working on the College's purchase ledger system and maintaining a mammoth spreadsheet of accruals and prepayments, which has enabled the College to keep track of electricity, gas, subscription and service contracts payments.
Feb 96 to Dec 97 Receptionist/Finance Clerk, Pembrokeshire College
Three days a week were spent on the College's Reception desk, dealing with enquiries from staff, students and the general public. Experience was also gained using a telephone switchboard with approximately 200 extensions. The remaining time was spent in the Finance department; duties included cashing up the takings from the College and entering the details as a journal on computer.
Oct 94 to Feb 96 Library Assistant, Pembrokeshire College
Full time work in the College's busy learning resource centre, originally as part of the Training For Work scheme. Duties included: cataloguing of books and journals on computer, with responsibility over the library's recataloguing project; issuing books and dealing with general enquiries; stocking shelves with books and periodicals.
Jan 94 to Oct 94 Fishguard Bay Caravan Park, Dinas Cross, Newport, Pembrokeshire
Cleaning of caravans and amenities (part time).
Jun 91 to Jan 94 Assisted my parents with the construction of a bungalow.
